Sandy looked across the wave of people with hidden faces on the dance floor. It was an upscale masquerade ball held by her socialite friends. It was a party of decadence and riddled with pretentiousness. Sandy felt uncomfortable and anxious to leave the place. Before she could make her way out, someone grabbed her wrist and held her back. She turned to see a figure in front of her, dressed in a sharp black tuxedo. His mask was a mirror dome that covered his entire head and neck. She could only see herself when she stared into where his face was. He brought her in closer and put his other hand around her waist and they started to dance. He let go of her wrist and gently rubbed her cheek. She could make out tattoos protruding from his arm onto his wrist, with smaller ones across his knuckles. Sandy was entranced by this human image in front of her. She wondered how he even made his way into the building, because he clearly did not belong, but that did not bother her. I always fall for your type, she thought to herself. As if he could read her thoughts, he held onto her tighter. She could smell his cologne. She gently caressed the mirror mask, wondering who was behind it. There dance lasted for another minute until he let go of her and walked away. She tried to follow him, but there were too many dancing people between them. When she came to a small clearing, the image was gone.
